Experience
For the past 4+ years, I have tutored pupils as young as 8 and as advanced as Ph.D. candidates. With all of them, we worked together to exercise and expand upon their command of the English language generally, and their creative and expository writing skills specifically. Whether the goal is to complete a writing assignment for World History class or prepare for an essay test on 18th Century Romantic Poetry, not only do we work on their ability to articulate their ideas with proper grammar, syntax and dynamic vocabulary, but we also work together on improving their critical thinking abilities, reading comprehension, research techniques, organization methods, and time-management skills. As a tutor, I feel that it is not only my responsibility to assist my students with their current school work, but to hone and cultivate the skills they will need to succeed on their own in college, the work place, or anywhere else that their dreams may take them.
