For more than a decade now, I've worked in leadership roles like tutoring, teaching tennis, and helping people learn better life skills. My experience in these volunteer positions has given me the opportunity to work with people of all ages, including adults. Part of the reason why I love tutoring and working as an instructor is that there's no greater feeling than watching someone improve themselves by reaching their goals. I truly enjoy having the opportunity to share my own interests, experiences, and knowledge with people who are trying to become better students and citizens. I believe that the best way to become an effective teacher is to first build professional relationships with the students so that you're able to better understand their needs and expectations. Once you've established rapport with your pupils, you can then start customizing lessons designed with your students' needs in mind. Not everyone learns in the same way, which is why it's so important to take a student-centered teaching approach to optimize your lessons. I also believe that it's important to help students set realistic goals that are challenging but reachable. That way, they're more likely to stay motivated throughout the entire learning experience. When I'm not teaching, I like to spend my time hiking, mountain climbing, and playing sports.
