Private tutor in Albany, NY
Wellesley College - Bachelors, Religion and Philosophy
I have a very student-based approach to tutoring that focuses on working with the student as a team to pinpoint their weak points and learning style. I offer continued support and energy as well as an approach to the material that is tethered to the student's real world. I believe that relating material to life ensures true, long term learning that doesn't only focus on short term goals like homework and tests. By supporting the students with positivity, creativity, and motivation, it is my hope to help them get through points in which they experience high levels of frustration and to help them feel confident in their own abilities. I am also able to make my sessions fun and engaging by using the skills I have acquired as a storyteller. Having an understanding of what particular challenges face you as a learner and having the determination to work through those challenges are the keys to success as a student. I tutor a variety of subjects, including Elementary Math, ESL, Reading, Writing, Math, English, and Test-Prep. When not tutoring, I enjoy reading, taking walks, knitting and crocheting, and writing.
