Texas Certified Math Teacher Former 8th grade math teacher I started my career out of college as an engineer for Motorola but decided to stay home when my first child was born. I started substitute teaching and tutoring as my children entered school. I eventually became certified in the state of Texas and taught math full time. My husband's job has relocated us to New York, and I am focusing on tutoring math. As a math teacher, I earned a monetary award for district excellence for all my students meeting or surpassing MAP testing growth levels in math. I have worked with young kids through college age students in extra curriculars and math related venues. I enjoy kids and feel very passionate about students developing a confidence in themselves and their math abilities.
