Sophomore Biology Major and Spanish Minor at Siena College in Albany, New York.
Experience
As a Biology major at Siena, I have taken General Biology I and II and Cellular Biology. These three classes cover in great depth all of the areas of Biology that are taught in middle and high school. In high school I took AP Biology, scoring a 4 on the exam and receiving credit at Siena for the course. I am now employed by the School of Science as a tutor for the lab section of General Biology II. Siena has given me experience in two types of learning environments - lecture and lab. I have studied Spanish for eight years and have recently declared a Spanish minor. I plan to study abroad in Ecuador next fall. Spanish has always been a subject that has been easy for me to pick up on. I would love the opportunity to share my study tips and help your child who it does not come as easily for. Outside of the classroom at Siena, I try to be involved as a leader and mentor on campus. I was an orientation leader, called a SAINT, and have continued my relationship with my group of freshmen post-orientation by being a mentor and friend. Through this position I was nominated for a Student Leadership Conference hosted at Siena where the basic principles of being a leader in your community were enforced. Finally, I have recently been elected to Student Events Board as a student representative where I will be expected to help plan and run all of the events that occur on campus.
